for me it depends on genre...

if it's an action-fantasy like bleach and naruto, i'd prefer the anime.

but if it's a romance-comedy and the likes, well for instance, Mx0 Smiley , i would prefer the manga.

For me, it would depend on how good the anime is adapted. Generalization doesn't work in this discussion ... I would agree for the most part I prefer anime if it's action... but for One Piece, I prefer the manga.

i prefer manga if its all about comedy
i prefer anime if its all about action

but sometimes i likes both, when the anime version is well made... and takes impact like school rumble...

To me it depends mainly on the series and creator as the manga/anime-adaption issue is different in many cases. I will just type a few common variations/trends that you sometimes find. To conserve space I'll just use spoiler tags for examples.

Variation 1
Some series follows the manga to a T, in this case they might add fillers or not. Also these series can start off following the manga exactly and end either too soon or completely verge off.
Variaton 2
The anime and manga are virtually the same.

Variation 3
Sometimes the anime follows the storyline of the manga but has minor changes in the events but the endcase and story stays true to the manga.
Variation 4
Here is where the largest issue where oppinions diverge, the manga and anime are completely different.

Regardless, the whole point is: do you like how the adaption is done or the original creation? This fact does not really transcend genre, just taste and personal opinion. You may like manga for comedy and believe that the anime is overdone and tasteless; while for action you may prefer anime for the fully done scenes. Naturally you will find people who agree or dissagree.

Well I much prefer Anime....it moving so the fighting will be good, the comedy will be more effective and it will force you to notice the awesome and background. When I read manga it most likely to be quick second look and just try to finish the 'text bubble', that will make me lose knowledge XD. Anime help me remember much more(well duh, it ~17 minute and manga took like ~5 minute a chapter).

So in the end Anime FTW...under one condition, not too much censorship. Anime sux when it come to filler though XD(duh!)

bah i had anime that trying to longer the episode for nothing. Ex: Dragon Ball. for 1 scene fighting it cost 1 episode ( what tyhe!! Huh)Profit thinking.
if you already read comic/novel than watch the anime sometimes you wouldn't like it when they either change the story completely or Too depends on book.
O yeah Sometimes anime comes first then the comic then... i'm forgot the tittle.

Anime is better for action, fighting, horror e.g. naruto, bleach, sucide club
