It's not too bad I guess (if I compare it to everything else I've seen)

main problems: tones not touched up, white areas not cleaned, the tone on the sword edge removed and a few problems on the black areas delimitation.

Heh, better than me when I decided to come back. Been about 6 years since I last used Photoshop but that is no excuse for completely forgetting about the existence of the freeform/anchor pen tool XD.

Though I even did worse confusing which quality Strike wanted at the beginning, the ways of editing seemed to have changed a little from the start of the project to the middle, so I kept running myself in corners wondering to what extent shades should be dealt with (found out for the cases I worried of, I should have just blacked it out and said screw it <<) Maybe after exams I will try out again.

So don't feel bad DarkraD. Personally cleaning may not be my schtick but you may do it more sooner than you think.

It's not easy to make a tutorial for magazine scans since the way to clean change according to the raw you use and to solve the major problem of jump scans, the ink missing, there isn't much choise but to fill black and redraw manually... (I think)

But I can give my advice, or help if needed.

Hi there Ossu staff, I'm mbambang, and I'm interested in joining Mx0 scanlation.

I've tried to clean a page from your test...

Here...

I will gladly accept any comments and critics.

It's not too bad, the main problems are the ghost on the back groung on the middle, the gray on kuzumi on the bottom right and the ghosts shadow on the bottom left

Hehe..It's not too bad, thank you. But, still, it's not good.
I've notice 'em too after i've compare with yours
Question:
1. How did you keep the gray looks great? I'm using history brush,FYI.
2. How do you clean the ghost shadow? I mean after i level and burn it's still bad. maybe i should redraw it:O

my clean->duplicate,exposu adjust,level adjust,burn n dodge,history brush grays.

Sorry if i ask too much:D,but I'm serious about this.
Thx b4!

I'm doing most of the cleaning manually, with the normal photoshop tools. Not a lot of people can handle that it seems.

The problem isn't at this point, if you have a huge amount of free time that you're ready to give to ossu, there are big chances that I could find a use of you.
The black is black, the white is white and it's not blurry, just that made you passed half the test.

Right now, I'm preparing the next releases (probably a batch of chapter all the same day), I'll write up Ossu's status at that moment, and we'll see what to do next.
