Heh, I was going to offer to help out, and then I remembered something important about myself- I'm really lazy.  So, instead, I offer a humble example of poor cleaning done by a lazy person.  For those interested in becoming cleaners, this is what not to do:

You guys keep up the good work, though- nothing beats coming home after a long day to find a brand new home-cooking and some warm and tasty chapter of Mx0!  H'od!  Ym lysdexia!

call yourself lazy is hard to suvive or learn form other, because no-one can full charge you skill and preview you working alone...so...

yo, New guy here, uhhh, just wanted to say; I'll do scanulating and editing, I just need translations and I can process shiz... I've acctually never done it before, but I think I have the basics down, I got a number of photo editing software programs from photo shop to a few custom job programs...
I'm almost always bored out of my mind anyways, if you ever need any help or manpower, I'll give it to ya...

We could use more skilled cleaners.
The fact you have never tried it before makes me wonder if you could handle the tasks you'll be asking for... well, maybe if you're used to drawing or such things with computer that would replace your lack of experience in editing scans, but well, in any case you'll have to give us proof of your skills first.

Question if I want to be a typesetter or proofreader do I just take kefi tests. Or does Ossu! have their own set of tests for that?

Secondly are you even accepting people in those two positions?

when on the channel try PMing any of the OPs for an answer, usually nobody reads the post on the channel unless its particularly interesting, or if a good conversation is going on... When I'm there screaming out BEWBIES or PENIS will get my attention although Im seldom online.

Also one more thing Strike is very vicious and picky he will eat you alive if you show any weakness with your task. A man born of Plum City is scary... *pokes strike yes his sleeping

More seriously, I'm always happy to have more really skilled people around, may it be translator, editor, or QCer, but right now the team somehow work with the few of us actually doing something (I'm not saying it work like a good team should work nor that we are fast enough though).
Right now I'm taking care of typesetting myself, and mew lamb and lb are doing not bad on QC
The thing we would need in priority would be more cleaners I think, mostly because this is what takes the more time to do.

a pm on irc is indeed the best way to catch our attention, but emailing us is also good since all the team is able to see your message.

and no, we don't have a test just for us (yet?) so you could as well use kefi or another test (better than nothing I guess) or try doing something or your own to show your skills

I tried sending a private message to da_might_plum on irc last night but I got an away message saying he was away for four hours. If there is a proofreading or typesetting test that you prefer I shall take that other then kefi's. Or if you come up with a quick test soon then I will take that also. Sorry for grammatical errors but I am in a rush at school.


Edit: Yea, I talked to StrikeFlo on IRC about the tests and I will be doing them if not this weekend the following weekend. My Final exams are this week which is the only reason for me being unable to finish both tests and giving them to you, guys.

Hey, I don't think I want to become a full time member because of my lack of time bceause I don't really have a schedule set up yet, and because i am on 56k for the summer, but I'd like to help out a bit by doing some cleans of future chapters to my skill level.  You might know me from the mangahelpers.com forums where i do ususally lq/mq speed scans of naruto, eyeshield 21, full metal alchemist and prince of tennis.  I am on 56k for the summer and don't anticiapte having very much time, but in order to try and increase speed, I'll try to do this if it helps.  I started cleaning chapter 40 raw off of a raw from a torrent on tokyotosho.com.  So if it helps, i'll continue cleaning the rest of the chapter, and possibly other chapters as well, my skill probably isn't very great, i have about 3-4 months of experience??
