Seriously, you shouldn't hope for a continuation of Mx0... it's a lost cause...

To have it continue would be like pointing up the mistake the guys who decided to stop it so fast did (even though it had still so much potential...)

Your referring to Shueisha? Yeah, the possibility of Mx0 recommencing may be close to zero, but there's always the chance. I may be naive, but I don't think it's a lost cause. But then, I'm just your average Joe, so what do I know.

I've been wondering for a while if there isn't something that we, as fans, can do to change the fate of Mx0.

if a few millions fans were gathering in japan, yeah, maybe... if not, no chances at all.

Really, I'm the first one to wish for a continuation of Mx0, but we have to face the facts: it's now over, and the author has already begun to work on other things, 2 oneshots out sine Mx0's end, 1 more to come soon.  Lips sealed

I may release the oneshot from akamaru jump if I find some time btw...

Can't the mangaka just find another publisher?

Theorically yes.
But it will most likely not happen. If you happened to read what hidenara wrote, contracts with shueisha are pretty tough, and there's probably a clause to prevent the mangaka to pucblish with random editors.
I think that when breaking a contract with shueisha, you'd better be sure about what you do, because I don't think there'll be a second chance. (I wouldn't do it if I were him)
