I like the idea but it kind of is just for show.

I remember a system an old friend of mine created that involved an in-forum fight system where each person can attack 3-5 people a day. At the end of the day they completely regenerate. Of course more points if a person gets k/o-ed (dies I guess). Each person has a lvl with hp, exp, etc. With lvl/exp people gain access to more attacks and such. An in-forum shop was made from forum posts and replies giving you points to use to buy. There were two shops, a battle shop (hp boost, attack skill usage, revive, etc) and a personalization shop to add colored text or whatever to your account. (I can try to scrounge up the coding for it)

It't just an old thing we tried and it was kind of successful to keep things interesting and more people on the forum. Of course it is just a thought. A rep system or just things as they are now is fair enough.

Strike, Chison's thought is a ranking system. Generally this means an approve/disaprove option attached to every post. When selected this gets tallied up under the person's avatar usually with a graphic to denote how respected or disliked a person is.

I guess Chison's interest in this is to make sure less people (newbs/leechers in particular) insult or annoy him. It is understandable.

If that was not the reason he may just want something like a mini arcade or some little thing like I posted above to pass the time.

I don't believe in a REP system at this forum....I mean how often will it be use? Not many people are sharing anything beside the Mx0 scanlation, raw, translation. A thanks in the reply is more then enough.

And I love to have game system at forum...make me come back to the forum(to play the game XD). It will probably reduce my post ratio

to LDK ,yes, this is a un-use system,i mean,it not often people truely thinks that you are good to earn one rep...and in my case,my english aren't good,so,people can rep down me.w.

there's the karma mod for smf that seems to suit what you want but the question is, is it worth activating it?

A rep system honestly will not change much as it does not affect forum activity that much. It is more like eye-candy.

As for that system I mentioned, it was already designed, coded, etc by friends of mine. We used to have our own forum for a game we used to play but ended up leaving the game. The friend that made it kind of turned emo-crazy but I can probably manage to get his work on it. It was only an offer in which I said I may be able to grab it, nothing more.

Personally, we tried using an arcade but after a while the scores were so high that no one competed (meaning reseting scores every so often is VERY important) Then the system was made and it turned out to be a major thing to keep people on the forums. It was a success but we were already quiting the original game (kind of like a pvp shooter game) the forum was made for due to leechers using hacks and such. So the forum and clan kind of died and we went our separate ways.

the karma mod adds a line behind the avatar with a +/- that people attributes to you. you can say it's a rep system.
