Well I did experienced a small earthquake (just enough to make a little rumbling noise and pots shaking)
but earthquakes aren't really common in france, so of course I'm not really scared of it...

well people here is pretty stupid, they felt the earthquake and immediately thought there was a tsunami coming and all the dumb asses started running towards the hills. They still don't get in their heads that even though a tsunami might come the coast design makes it almost impossible for the freaking wave, once it reaches the coast to go above 10 meters high, or at least reach 100 meters into the coast

Never experienced earthquakes myself, though I have had quite a lot of experience with hurricanes. Used to like in Miami, Fl untill around 6 years ago. In truth it was never too fearsome for some people more of "jeez... again?" feeling. I guess I was lucky since Hurricanes tend to head to Florida but for the most part barely miss Miami every time. I can equally how annoying it can be to be without power and such for hours to days.
As for earthquakes, that just depends on where you live. If you are more likely to live in areas like California or Japan, you would be more accustomed to minor scale ones that feel no more than living next to train tracks. (annoyance w/ indifference)

yeah, that's called the triangle of life, it was discovered that the chances for survival if you sit next to a strong object are higher than if you hide under something, since all the falling object will form a triangle against the big object you are sitting next to
