Tristan, none taken. And I do agree with you; you lose a lot of the feel of a manga through translation. Some things just don't translate. (I'd really like to get around to taking a class in Japanese sometime..)

In the cases of words that should/shouldn't be included in that list, try to go with what is considered "special" in the anime/manga context. For One Piece the word is Nakama in particular. They usually leave the attacks untranslated cause they seem less akward that way (thats actually for any anime though, for some reason the Japanese love shouting attack names in every occasion 0.o)

In words common like baka, etc; it would kind of be stupid to never translate it, just doesnt feel right. For really common words with many variations of trans, just try to look at context and go with the word that fits best. To be honest, in that occasion i would prefer english specified to the meaning (acc. to context) and would dislike a simple translation as well as it untranslated (it kind of destroys the feeling of the story when not translating words in that way.)

I'l agree with snowsfoot that "the little stones and tsutsumimoto with ise changed places" sounds odd.

and the "Magic that exchanges the physical location of two objects, pasted with [* ] and [*´], with their complementory objects" phrase seems to be edited midway through a train of thought
Imo it would possibly make more sense if you were to drop either "two" (and changed it to "...(pasted with [* ]) and with their complementary objects (pasted with [*´]) or the part after the last comma completly.

But English isn't my native language so i might be completely off.


Edit: Lord Mew: I'm saying that the sentance structure seems moved around, not that it seems to be translated incorrectly. It's still easily understandable, just seems a bitt odd when im rereading it.

well... that's the way it was written on the original, it just means that whathever you paste with " A " changes places with " A' " and whatever you with " B " changes with " B' " the ° and * were just there to work as any letter

English isn't my native langage either which is why I don't think I'm the right person to say anything about this. (besides I understand the japanese sentence so of course that makes sense to me...)
