Question about Chapter 54 (discussion possible) spoilers included

First off, thanks for the staff of Ossu for scanlating 54, THANK YOU

Anyway, about this chapter.  I was a bit confused as to what exactly happened w/ Koizumi.  Is he being sent back to the past with a temporary use of magic?  Is it a permament fixture now?  I realize his memories were the only thing that was sent but there was some prior mention of interest about the possibility of what would become of him if he DID have magic to start off with.  That's why I'm curious about these few things.

1) With his new fragmented memory on the very first day of the interview, does he have magic now?  Is it a permament thing? 
2) What's with the time limit of 24 hours and 6 months and the effectiveness showing with every passing day.  Does that mean his magic is temporary?


Pleaseee answer someone, the suspense/confusion is torturing.  =X

the magic lasts 24 hours, the limit to how far in the past the person's memory can be sent is 6 months, if he manages to change the past the current 54 chapters of the manga would be as if they had never happened and he would be a normal student with normal magic plate, if he fails there's no change.

Downside of the spell: not all of his memories go back in time, only fragmented pieces of it

just remember the radio example, the farest from the source you try to lisen the more shitty the songs will be, it's the same here, but if you got past 6 month instead of not being able to hear the song, you can't receive the memory, which also means that if it was sent to only 1 month he would receive more parts.

And no he can't use magic since he doesn't have a plate in the past

waitt, he can't use magic? X_X then what was the whole point in sending his memory back in the first place?  If he doesn't have magic, he can't read those letters, unless they just purely want him to be an "official" student at the academy even when he actually doesn't have any magic. 

I kind of got what the Lord Mew said but you just threw me for a loop strikeflo.  The radio analogy is perfect but I thought he was going to get a plate if he passes the interview test properly.  Something about both the sensei and the principal infusing him with magic at the cost of them losing 2 months of magic use.

daddy hiiragi and the principal not able to use their magic for 2 month after that is because they use the magic to send his memory to the past, they're not giving him any magic.

they are just sending him back in time to see if he actually has inherent magic ability and see if he passes, because if you don't have magic in your blood then you can't read the guide book and you fail the examination interview.

^So are they retesting him or something? But if he in the 1st chapter wasn't able to pass, how would he in the past be able to? Does the "present memory" hold anything significant? Or are they looking to revise potential source of error, like him forgetting the Entrance Exam Guide? Or maybe like in the conversation the principal and Daddy Hiiragi had chapter 53, they are just interested in him, wanna give him another chance, so all of it was ultimately a gamble?

Nvm, it would probably just a speculation unless it's the last one...  But the whole thing makes me wonder the significance of the exam ...

yeahh tiachopvutru has the same mindset as I do, what would be different about him taking the test this time around even w/ all his new memories if he doesn't inherently have magic?  isn't that the requirement to read those words?  I mean him passing the test would then allow him to have a magic card infused with magic on it, granted, but this is just a hypothesis:

He's being sent w/ fragments of his memory and allowed minor use of magic for twenty four hours, also the time limit for him to accomplish what he was sent back for.  I'm a bit uncertain as to whether he has magic inherently after all that he's gone through or that they imbued within him a small source of consumable magic, but that after the test, (should he pass), he'll be allowed to use magic on his own with a card given to him.  Therefore it is a gamble of sorts, the reason they're allowing this at such a large cost to the principal and hiigari sensei is that they're interested and DO want to give him a chance, to actually use magic by himself, but that such a shot relies on him ultimately, they can only give him the opportunity to retake the test, so it is a gamble.

sigh... this is why I love and hate time travel theory, I love it becasue I understand it, I hate it becasue I have no idea how to explain it to them, I'll give it a try, I might spoil 57, but you will read under your own risk.

By sending Kuzumi's memories to the past he has no real advantage other than knowing that the Examination guide is the key, because the magic is in the body, not in the knoweldge, so he is taking the exam as he was at the beggining of Mx0 not as he is now, he is using his old body with new memories to change that past, therefore he can start school with a properly made specially for him PLATE that will allow him to use magic. If people doesn't remember, Kuzumi only gets crappy plates because he didn't enter officially into the school therefore a plate for him wasn't made when the Mount had the right conditions to do so. ****Spoilers Ahead*** Now you will see in 55 and 56 that the reason that Kuzumi failed inspite of the lack of cooperation by his sister is becasue of the time travel he did, in other words if you check chapter 1 when Kuzumi is thinking what happened the day of the examination you will see that it links to the happenings of 56 and in 57 the Principal and Hiiragi-sensei end up realizing that because they sent Kuzumi's new memories to the past is why he failed, think of it as a loop that starts on the examination day and ends when he is sent to the past.

Clearer than that would require that you all watch some Star Trek Voyager with episodes of time travel so you understand how the meddling in the past was already preordained. In other words, Kuzumi's medling with the past already happened in ch01 and this is just an Omake of how he failed the exam, after this ark ends think of it as if nothing had happened and you will enjoy a time paradox free life

I'm not perturbed at all of the spoiling, it's all cleared up now but i'm mad X_X.  I was all pumped up for Koizumi to be able to use magic instead of that MO card and to have a fresh start but argh, goddamned omake like mini time travel arc .. =(

I really hoped for something else to happen, but i think it's not all omake since (i think) neither the principal or hiragi sensei can use magic for the next 2 months so they cant help kuzumi to pretend to use magic, and it wasn't that he failed because they meddled with his memory he probably failed by himself the first time and a second with his new memory creating ch.1 and starting the loop.

once ch 57 comes out you can all mess up with time theories, but I just say: "if you don't get it the first time on your own, stop asking and let it be".

it helps to think of time travel as a loop generator, once you travel to a time a loop of events is generated that ends once you reach the time of departure, after that everything is okay
