ERO?? hentai?? or otaku??!

the other day my japanese friend and i were discussing about the different mangas and anime we read/watch.

he reads naruto, bleach, eyeshield 21, katekyo hitman reborn!, d.grayman...

i read mx0, to-love-ru, air gear, katekyo hitman reborn!, angel densetsu, tenjou tenge, midori no hibi, happy world!, claymore, etc...

then he calls me a hentai!!! i was shocked!

am i a hentai?? just coz there happens to be even a little bit of ecchi in the mangas i read??

even so the ecchi i see in these mangas dont even compare to the american movies i've watched. American pie series, national lampoons, road trip for example.

lol this is weird that i am posting this but but i just wanna know. plus there's not much action on this forum besides in the current story thread so yeh.

and
you read mx0, to-love-ru, air gear, katekyo hitman reborn!, angel densetsu, tenjou tenge, midori no hibi, happy world!, claymore, etc...

 you are more of a man reader don't mind to read about female leads ,but still on the the shonen side...
and you didn't mention very much of manga ,so you aren't yet an otaku...


unless you mention some 18x 20x manga,is very hard for me to call you a hentai,so ...maybe because he don't read hentai,so he didn't use the big word proper,or maybe he just wants to making a joke out of that,or samply he got things wrong...w...

I think your friend was just joking around as it seems like it has a slight different taste in manga as you. People usually just summarised certain mangas as hentai after seeing one particular picture, for example a picture of some of the busty girls from Tenjou Tenge (sorry its been a while and I tend to have a poor memory for japanese names).

If you read them because you think the stories are good or if you somehow get attached to the series (plus looking at a pictures, doesn't hurt to gain a bit) then you are not. When someone calls you a hentai, that means pervert, right? (correct me if I'm wrong) But if your ONLY reason to read those is because of the top, the bottom, and the legendary piece of undergarments; then yes, you are. Even so, there are a lot of mangas out there with a lot more ecchi scenes so I can't really see how the latter is true...

But then, most of us guys can be counted as pervs...

urm...what can i say?

im 'manga/anime fan' i guess... and what i concern most is the story line and scene(i like comedy) and not the character much(i mean physical appearance)...
i guess otaku is the person who like to collect things, like doll or figure about an specific char that they like (i'm wrong?)
manga i like: naruto,bleach,school rumble,claymore,mXo...much more to shounen manga

Well the adjective for hentai can range from slightly estranged to highly perverted freak. Your friend may have said it in which you read perverted things or your taste is somewhat different. For the first case it was explained by chison and others, meaning you are probably not hentai oriented. Also I have no clue what Lord Mew falls under and I'm afraid to ask <.<

For an Otaku it fits two descriptions. One you have a wide interest in a subject and have many likes in which it is enough for you to have knowledge of it such as able to answer trivia on it well. Then there is the darker variant where it is like an obsession. To keep it simple, think of Trekies, cosplayers and crazy fans that live for it. The obsession part has different ranges of obsession but I think you get the idea.

In my opinion, if your anything, its Otaku/other. The definition of other in your case is nicely explained by chison.

i read all book that interesting ( comic (mature non mature, childish, hentai, girlish ), novel (fiction, non-fiction ), science book, medical book, economy book, all magazine in my country with interesting story only, plantation book ) but you  know what's my job? IT...... based

LAME! Although I'm uncertain how your country treat reading, but where I live people quite hate reading! Although people still tend to read if they needed to, but they not gonna go and get some 'fiction' stories at the store or library to read. I for one hate reading BOOKS as well, it too informative which tend to lead to boring, I don't mind reading random people opinion(e.g. forums).

Well to me I consider you(shikigamics) to be a book worms, cuz you read much more then people nowaday, it all about Movies and T.V nowaday. No offence in any way Shiki

I like ecchi so i vote for 4th...
so many manga that I've read and most of them have ecchi genre 
i didnt have a reason not to like hentai, but i think that thing is bad for my mind
