lamb our proofer and staff of baka updates asked me to advertise this, so that's what I'm doing.
go visit this link fo all the informations: http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=1451

basically if you leave your computer running all day for msn icq aim or everything like that without doing anything else, you're typically the kind of person that have to join this :p

That's our team number for Baka-Updates.

If you know what Folding@Home is, there's the number you need! For all of you who don't know what the heck I'm talking about, keep reading.

Just some links for more info.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding%40home

Folding@Home (F@H) is a computer project that takes unused CPU power from your computer to simulate the folding of proteins in the body. This will help the researchers at Standford study proteins and find cures for certain diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer's Disease. This means you can help mankind by just installing this program and letting it run. This is a low priority program in terms of CPU power. For all you people who don't understand, it means by running this program, it will not slow down your computer when you play all those hardcore games. (Program runs in the system background.)

Now, teams are for a group to have a combined score to beat other groups in terms of score. There aren't really any rewards except for e-penis, if you know what I mean...BUT, it's for helping out mankind, so why not join? Other places have teams, including real-life companies or the infamous 4chan. Why not have our community of manga readers try to beat 4chan? That would be cool!

Once we start having some WU (work units), I'll post up the stats page for our group.

I just joined, I had nothing else better to do, and it even has a pretty graphic interface to look at it while you wait, it's like watching paint dry though.

[edit] The damn client doesn't let me play any damn game, if I open ragnarok the thing minimizes it, if I open any other game that requires full screen, the thing minimizes it... any idea what the hell is wrong with the client, any special configuration required?

it could be that the application is set to normal priority. try changing ti so it works at low, in the background.
